Anime has become popular and mainstream in recent years. Not only has the industry grown bigger in Japan, but it’s overall popularity also expanded in the West. According to the 2018 Report on Japanese Animation Industry, the overseas market, which grew by 131.6%, almost surpassed the domestic market in terms of size. In terms of the West, an article from ParrotAnalytics shows the USA, France, and Canada as part of the top 10 countries outside of Japan with the highest demand for anime. Isekai a type of anime where the protagonist of the story goes to another world (Isekai means in another world in Japanese) through means of a particular event. Isekai stories have become very common in anime, with at least one or two releases each season. Most of them are typically mediocre in the context of their stories and even their characters. In fact, of all Isekai anime that I have watched, I only got to like a small amount of them. So, in terms of Isekai, not that I will only be reviewing what I believe are the best ones.

As I’ve indicated before, I am relatively new to anime. Being new often causes me to miss out on seasonal anime releases that are already beyond their first season. One of these from the 2019 Spring collection, is the third season of Bungo Stray Dogs. As one of the recommendations from Fruitcake, I decided to catch up, and I started watching the first season. I recently finished it, and thus here is my Bungo Stray Dogs Season 1 Review.
While my anime mileage at this point is very low, I can safely say that I just love these anime tearjerkers. I don’t know if it’s just me being an emotional person, but I genuinely love how they always seem to tug at my heartstrings. As weird as it may be, whenever I ask for anime recommendations from Fruitcake, I always tell him to give me titles that would make me cry. Yes, weird.
